Gunter Pauli is an entrepreneur and a best-selling author of The Blue Economy. Gunter has been dubbed "The Steve Jobs of sustainability. He is the founder of the Zero Emissions Research Initiative (ZERI). ZERI was established by Gunter in 1994 at the United Nations University (UNU) with the Japanese Government's support. Three years before the Kyoto Protocol was agreed upon in 1997, Gunter directed a team of scientists to design a new business model that operates without emissions and waste.
